The more you pressure me, the less I become.

Due Recognition
In recognizing effort, our goal should not be about giving everyone an award;
Rather to award only those who deserve it.
When the Search is Endless
You have been waiting for quite too long.
You have searched painstakingly.
You have looked far and wide;
That you have missed the signs,
Ignored the very thing you've been waiting for.
What Defines You
Your profession cannot conceal your true form;
Nor can it define who you really are.
Your actions can.
There was this man who hurriedly clung to one of the bars attached to the entrance of the jeepney I was riding. The driver motioned him to get inside as there was still space for him. He then murmured that he may not fit the available space because no one moved to give him the space. But the driver insisted so he got in. The man opposite to me was unaware of what was going on because he was sound asleep. To my surprise, he shoved the man's left knee so hard while saying in a shouting manner, "Isdog ui!" (Scoot over).
He didn't stop yapping. He really had a lot to say. He even said "Nagkaminos ka nako? Dili tawn ko basta-basta lang, propesyonal ko. Niretire na lang jud ko sa akong trabaho. Engineer ko."...wait, that's quite a lenghthy translation.... Let me encapsulate it. (I am not a nobody. I am a retired professional Engineer.)... I was like, hello nobody's asking.
Going back to the man beside the annoying blabbermouth. He was really shocked not to mention confused as to why there is a man beside him so enraged. All he could say was, "Naunsa ka, natug raman ko diri?" (What's going on, man, I'm sleeping here.) Before he could say more the annoying blabbermouth went on to his seemingly endless rounds of conceit.
Up until now, I still ask myself what's with him. What's his problem? Is he really that desperate for attention? Has no one ever recognized him as an engineer before that he really needs everyone to know who he was. Can he just ask politely? It's a public ride after all. Worse, he said he is a professional. He is educated? Really? Educated?
